All English Comedy Night
Last year’s All-English Shows were such a success, that American headliner Scott Capurro agreed to come down to the Ghent Comedy Festival. As an addition and on popular demand we were able to convince last year’s headliner Jovanka Steele to come back as a support act.
This fantastic bill will be served at the same ticket prices as last year, but we would urge you to reserve your tickets beforehand, in order to avoid disappointment!
Scott Capurro (VS) has been a professional comedic performer since 1993. In 1994 he received the Perrier Award for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Festival.
Listing all his TV-credits is a mission impossible, but he is a regular guest in “The Stand-Up Show” (BBC) and hosted the groundbreaking documentary “The Truth about Gay Animals” on Channel 4 (UK). As a voice actor, Scott has performed in such blockbusters as Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Mrs Doubtfire!
Provocation! Culture! Politics! Racism! It is the stuff that Scott Capurro’s comedy is made of. Comedy Festival Gent is honored to host his first ever Belgian shows.
Jovanka Steele (VS) toured the USA, England, Scotland, Ireland and a big chunk of continental Europe, before she decided to settle in Belgium in 2007. She did work for the BBC, starred in the series “That’s So Last Week!” (Five, UK) and was featured in such high-rated comedy shows as Raymann is Laat (NL) and Comedy Casino (B). After her succesful shows last year, when she closed the festival under a thunderstorm of applause, she was easily convinced to present her brand new material as a support act for Scott Capurro.
